Saw a picture in Model Railroad Craftsman and had to try to make one of these shorty cabooses:
Used a band saw to remove unwanted section, picked up a used caboose body from a hobby swap meet a while back, truck salvaged from a decommissioned passenger car:
Major components and bodies glued back up:
First step assembly:
A test run to get the weighting correct for the caboose behind a Rapido switcher and track cleaning car:
Almost complete, paint touch-ups and some additional detailing with crew to follow:
